Online Petition Launched To Keep MARILYN MANSON From Playing Jesus In New Movie
July 29, 2004Billy Youngson of the Buchan Observer is reporting that a Scottish man is trying to ban Marilyn Manson from playing Jesus in a new movie.
Scott Morrison is campaigning against George A. Romero's "Diamond Dead", which portrays Jesus smoking dope and swearing. His online petition has attracted 377 signatures after being set up two weeks ago.
Morrison has blasted the producers for including scenes where a minister indulges in sexual bondage and Christians use guns.
"Diamond Dead" is a black comedy about a rock band which returns from the dead. It sees an aspiring female singer attempt to join an up-and-coming garage band, only to accidentally kill them.
She makes a deal with Death to bring the group back, and they become an overnight success. But in return she must slaughter 365 people in a year.
Morrison, 28, said: "There are around three or four scenes which make a complete fool of Christians."
AG Productions' "Diamond Deadweb site has a full script for the movie. Morrison's petition can be found at this location.
